School Safe Zones, a model program of OGHS partner Church World Service, recognizes that education is an essential ingredient in breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty in parts of Africa. By providing secure environments, where children can learn and play in safety; stimulating environments, where teachers are well-trained and have adequate materials for their classes; and healthy environments, where children have access to safe water and basic health care, communities are working together to equip their future leaders.
