Hassan Dayow, his wife, and four daughters resettled in the U.S. from a refugee camp in Kenya. Dayow and his family are Somali Bantu, recognized by the U.S. government as an extremely vulnerable group that experienced brutal discrimination in Somalia. Now Hassan Dayow’s family and other Somali Bantu are building new lives here in the U.S. Support for Church World Service, provided through OGHS, is helping the families find housing, enroll their children in school, look for work, and learn more about their new homes and communities, all with advice and assistance from local church groups and volunteers. Says one newly resettled refugee, “Now we are in a good life.”
