denomccdesciples.gifThrough Week of Compassion, Disciples support and participate in a remarkable network of partnerships that offer help and hope to hurting people throughout the world.

The purpose of the Week of Compassion is to be the channel for the resources for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in providing ready and compassionate response:

1. to severe human distress caused by natural disaster or political or economic crisis; 

2. to requests for self-help and development of people victimized by economic, sociological, educational, or spiritual privation; 

3. to the need for ecumenical advocacy and action to eliminate the root causes of poverty, hunger, and injustice; 

4. to the need for ecumenical support including volunteers and staff, particularly as it relates to relief, development, and refugee ministries.

Gifts for disaster relief, anti hunger efforts, refugee assistance, self-help development projects and other efforts supported by OGHS can be made to:
